November

Lets start all the way back in Novemeber with the wonderful holiday called Thanksgiving. We had two family gatherings to be a part of this year. My cousin Derris recieved his mission call to Brazil and had his departure date scheduled for the 16th of Nov. So that he could have one last Thanksgiving with us for two whole years, we moved up the celebration. My side of the family gathered together for food and games. The food was delicious as always. Everyone got a kick out of the fact that everytime Spencer saw my grandpa he would yell "Papa!!" as loud as he could. And to cap it all off, my sister and I helped make a paper chain for Derris's parents for his mission. That's right, 730 pieces of paper rolled up that are now layering the walls of their house.

Because this freed up time the week of Thanksgiving, we decided to join Mark's brother Alan and his family for their celebration. The plus was that they live in Arizona! Bring on the warm weather! We had a fantastic time with them experimenting with turkey rubs, tasting new cheeses, enjoying every bit of the feast, and ending each night with two or three slices of pie. So delicious! Spencer had a blast playing with Amelia and all her 'new to him' toys. they both loved crawling through the tunnels of the cardboard castle.

We also went to the Phoenix Zoo with some friends. We had a great time checking out all the animals and enjoying the heat.
